STATEMENT
What can a data analyst do for you? I can solve problems, If I cant solve it, I can potentally build a better solution, if I cant build it timely, i can evaluate the value in the deliverable and lean on base assumptions keeping the scope, and at all cost protect your process from integrating new third party solutions. I can identify areas of business practice quickily idetifying the gaps and unreconciled numbers that should be tied out. What I will not do is change your process, this is your organizational time-honored practice.
by leveraging agile methodology, I become the least instrumental person on the team placing your employee's industry knowledge at the center of all progress.
Jason is an excellent student, and was one of my very best students in all of these classes, achieving a rare A in all of these classes. In ISC329 (Database applications), he worked in a team to develop an excellent and original project designing a database application allowing City users to store and retrieve on the fly information about fire hydrants and lampposts. He mastered perfectly all requirements for the classes, and went far above the requirements. He often took time helping other students complete their assignments, which he most of the time completed early. His presentation at the end of the class for ISC329 was well appreciated and demonstrated excellent presentation skills.
Jason is also interested in health informatics topics and often discusses these with me. He is always eager to learn more outside of school as when he joined a group from SUNY Oswego at a Health Informatics Conference in Syracuse in the spring of 2013.
I must add that he also enjoys working in teams, for instance in the database class, and has quite excellent communication skills. He is very articulate when explaining his reasoning and thoughts.
Jason has continuously shown great interest and a natural aptitude for the rigor of advanced academic study, as well as thoroughness and patience in his studies. He has repeatedly demonstrated excellent learning skills in classes, and is also capable of applying them to large projects, such as in databases and related projects. He has the aptitude to accomplish in depth research tasks beyond the level – and maturity - of an undergraduate student in our program. He showed in my classes and his professional projects his capacity for independent work and creativity of the level required in graduate studies.
Given the context described above, I have no doubt that Jason is destined to a bright future in whatever he decides to pursue.
